The Seattle Times says the Market Theater Gum Wall became a landmark in the city when theater-goers began sticking their gum onto the brick wall and smashing a coin into it. After trying to remove all of the gum in the 90's was unsuccessful, the Gum Wall was deemed an attraction. If you want to see this wall, you can find it at Post Alley between Pike and Union streets.
I guess timing is everything... I was able to see the famous Gum Wall in Seattle before it was cleaned up. Yes, you heard that correct - GUM! As I was setting up my tripod to take a few shots of the thousands of pieces of chewing gum stuck on the walls here, I noticed there was someone getting ready to steam clean the walls.
This was a night when everything simply came together for me. It was the first night after a Hurricane Matthew missed Miami. I was granted access to an exclusive point-of-view of the skyline.
