The slot canyons found in Arizona are no doubt gorgeous. The lightbeams that are often visible during the right time of the year are awesome, but so is coming around the corner and seeing how the light makes the canyon walls mystical and beautiful. The grooves, the darkness in the shadows and the details in the light all come together beautifully.
Only had one free evening to get over to Lake Tahoe on this trip, so I went to nowhere else but the famous Bonsai Rock. I got there a bit late, so I couldn't get to the place I wanted to on down the shore. I found a place to get comfortable to watch the sunset and shot a while. There is a hike down from the main road which is easy to get down, but make sure to bring a flashlight to get back up!
I took this 165 megapixel panoramic from the Visitor's Center during a 1-day trip to the Colorado Springs area. Garden of the Gods is a free park to visit. On the right you can see the famous "kissing camels" in the sandstone formation. In the background of this photo is Pike's Peak which stands at over 14,100'.
